Help civilian victims of the US occupation of Iraq

We work to facilitate community actions that directly benefit injured Iraqi children and their families.

Check out the information at our website www.nomorevictims.org. We have three basic ways of working:

  1. Evacuation and treatment in the United States: We identify children injured as a direct result of US military assault and seek medical sponsorships for them in the U.S. These are intense, long-term projects that require substantial funding and the dedicated efforts of a core group of 5 - 10 people. See http://nomorevictims.org/projectguides.php for general guidelines.
  2. Advocacy and in-country assistance: We connect communities directly with children injured as a direct result of US military assault, and facilitate assistance to the child and his or her family. These projects are well suited to high school, college and community groups. We provide the child's medical report, a photo, and a summary of the facts regarding the attack that injured the child. The organizers then develop a list of questions for the child and his or her family. We secure answers the the questions, and participants prepare a needs assessment. The group then goes to work to meet the most pressing needs of the child and family. See http://nomorevictims.org/shaymaa.php, and http://nomorevictims.org/ayat.php for two example of how these projects work.
  3. Provision of medical supplies: According to a recent Oxfam Report, after four and a half years of occupation, 90% of Iraq's hospitals lack basic medical and surgical supplies. We work to deliver urgently needed supplies to Iraqi clinics and hospitals. See http://nomorevictims.org/supplies.php for more information. We purchase supplies directly from the importer at prices significantly below wholesale. If you would like to host or organize a fundraiser to help with this effort, we would be most grateful.

We rely on grassroots organizers at the community level. We accept no government funding. We believe that every individual and community in this country can provide direct assistance to victims of aggression, and help to tell stories that will educate a broader public about the tragic human consequences of US militarism.

We would welcome the opportunity to work with you and your friends and colleagues. Please consider these possibilities, and let us know which of these models is best suited to your interests, connections and skills.

Best wishes,
