Today I’m privileged to have Marjorie Cohn as a guest. Marjorie Cohn is professor emerita at Thomas Jefferson School of Law where she taught for 25 years. The former president of the National Lawyers Guild and criminal defense attorney is a legal scholar, political analyst and social critic who writes books and articles, makes media appearances and lectures throughout the world about human rights and U.S. foreign policy. She has testified before Congress and debated the legality of the war in Afghanistan at the prestigious Oxford Union. Blase: You have an update of an earlier book, Marjorie?
Marjorie: Yes, Drones and Targeting Killing: Legal, Moral and Geopolitical Issues. It just came out in an updated second edition published by Interlink.
Blase: Wonderful. Of course, that horrible history goes way back. Like so many things, it’s not just a Trump issue. We sometimes think everything is about Trump. This was targeted murders, certainly went back through the Obama years. So we have a military industrial problem that won’t go away even when Trump goes away. (Read More)
