I’m privileged today to have David Hartung as a guest. David is a friend of a half century. Way back in the 1960s he was a representative for the American Friends Service Committee in Washington DC. Since that time David has documented that half century in his book, Waging Peace: Global Adventures of a Life-long Activist.
You and your book have received the Skipping Stone Award for international and multi-cultural books. Even in the past week you and your wife Jan have been engaged in civil disobedience at the Livermore Lab in California, not to mention your previous work in the Poor People’s Campaign, War Tax Resistance, and we might also mention the co-founding of the non-violent peace force and World Beyond War. David, it’s been a wonderful life! Welcome.
David: Thank you Blase, it’s been a good life, as you say – and it continues!
Blase: Indeed. Your letter to the IRS – it was nice of you to write to them, a lot of people don’t say dear friends to the IRS, but you do because you’re part of the friends. Would you care to read some of your letter? (Read More)
